Kintsugi Hope wellbeing group leaders are trained to run their group in a facilitating capacity. They are expected to use the material provided by Kintsugi Hope in view to help participants’ conversations and contributions about the sessions’ topics. They can use as much or as little of the material provided as they wish and depending on participants input and contributions. It is expected that group leaders are honest and demonstrate an ability to be humble and approachable as well as willing to express vulnerability when appropriate and within boundaries. This makes them relatable and reinforces the model of ‘not them and us’, as well as encourage the practice of walking alongside people, accepting where they are at, without judging them or trying to fix them.
The training is delivered through a variety of styles including discussions, group work, Bible study, video and up front teaching, with time for open mic sharing about ongoing work in your community and Q&A.
The Wellbeing Group material is accessible online via a portal we refer to as the Group Management System (GMS). This is the platform all group leaders would have accessed at application stage, and which contain update of their progress on their journey with Kintsugi Hope as a group leader. As a group leader, they will have created login details when they first applied to the wellbeing group training. They should use the same login details to enter the platform and access the material. The material will only be available for them to access after they have fully completed the training (including completed both online training modules and group experience). Once they are approved by Kintsugi Hope after their training, they will receive confirmation of the later in an email containing important information on how to access the material. We recommend that they keep this safe to ensure they have all they need when they are ready to plan for their wellbeing group.
Kintsugi Hope wellbeing groups can be run in various places as well as online. Some practical considerations may need to be taken into consideration if online. To date, we have had wellbeing group take place in churches, community centres, coffee shops, people’s home, as well as more unusual settings, like schools, homeless shelters, prisons, baby and toddlers’ groups. For any questions concerning settings where to run a Kintsugi Hope wellbeing group, please get in touch.
Financial support for Kintsugi Hope comes from partner contributions, individual Hope Givers, trusts and legacies. Our partner contributions are crucial in allowing us to create and curate excellent and professionally supported Wellbeing Group materials, Group Leader training and provide ongoing support. We choose not to pass the full cost on to our partners but ask for a partnership contribution. Our minimum partner contribution is £360 per year but our range goes up to £3000 per year. We are happy to discuss what amount within this range is most appropriate for you. We get no government funding and miss out on some funding options because we are a Christian organisation. We rely on our partners and Hope Givers who share our heart to be the church reaching its community and loving its neighbour to fund what we do. Please do speak with us about your partnership contribution and your next steps to becoming a Kintsugi Hope partner organisation.
Kintsugi Hope is a growing movement of churches and charities taking up the call to create safe spaces for their community. Will you join the movement?
