Together we will explore how we can elevate our understanding of mental health, eradicate the stigma against mental health issues by naming our position, and encourage a compassionate response through gentle presence.
This training will help you to:
-Understand our emotions and explore a robust theology of mental health
-Understand the mental health continuum
-Explore how the church can eradicate stigma
-Gain an overview of mental health conditions and how the church can respond
-Encourage compassion and a gentle presence in our churches and communities
-Cultivate our own and other’s wellbeing
-Develop mental health friendly communities
This training will help your church leaders and members to:
-Understand our emotions and explore a robust theology of mental health
-Understand the mental health continuum Explore how the church can eradicate stigma
-Gain an overview of mental health conditions and how the church can respond
-Encourage compassion and a gentle presence in our churches and communities
-Cultivate our own and other’s wellbeing Develop mental health friendly communities
The training is delivered through a variety of styles including discussions, group work, Bible study, video and up front teaching, with time for open mic sharing about ongoing work in your community and Q&A.
The day is suitable for ordained and lay leaders, ministry leaders, pastoral workers, small group leaders - and anyone with a heart to learn more.
- Providing the venue (to seat any number from 25 upwards)
- AV equipment together with a person who can run your system
- Providing refreshments (tea/coffee/water/etc) and a few volunteers to prepare and serve these.
- If overnight accommodation is required due to distance of travel, we do appreciate the offer of a host the speaker the night before the event, and lunch during the event.
The day runs from 10am – 4pm, with bring your own lunch from 12 – 1pm, and a refreshment break at 2.30pm.
Our training days are suitable for between 25 and 100 delegates.
Other than the practicalities of hosting, there is no other cost to the host church. In addition, 2 complimentary tickets are given to the host church. Kintsugi Hope will oversee and create the ticket booking system via Eventbrite, then will share the booking link and information with you as the host church. The ticket price is £35 per person which includes notes for each delegate, and the full teaching day. We will also offer a discount to group bookings of 10 or more delegates. Any proceeds from ticket sales will go to Kintsugi Hope to contribute towards speakers’ fees and expenses.
Promoting the event is the responsibility of the host church. Experience has shown that circulating the information to all churches in your area is a positive way to engage more people and make connections within your community. Kintsugi Hope will provide digital assets to assist you with promoting the event. Kintsugi Hope will also promote the event through our website and other social media.
