What is a Kintsugi Hope Wellbeing Group?

A Kintsugi Hope Group is a safe and supportive space for people who feel or have felt overwhelmed, providing tools for self-management in a facilitated peer mentoring style setting.

It consists of a structured yet flexible series of 12 weeks of content, which includes group and individual activities designed to help participants to accept themselves, to understand their value and worth, and grow towards a more resilient and hopeful future.

The role of the Group Leader is to facilitate the sessions using the material available, signposting people if necessary to further help and support. It can feel vulnerable and scary starting a group, but the benefit of a Kintsugi Hope Group is that Group Leaders are not on their own.

Issues covered include; disappointment, loss, anxiety, anger, perfectionism, shame and resilience. Feedback so far has been amazing.

How do we set up a Kintsugi Hope Wellbeing Group?

To run a Group, your Church first needs to apply to become a Kintsugi Hope Church Partner (to ensure great safeguarding and for the group to be well-supported). Once this is in place, your church can recommend as many people as they want to train to become Group Leaders and run a group.

There are Adult, Youth and Student streams, enabling groups to be held within a church or a wider community, such as with existing or newly formed small groups within a church, or with neighbours, friends, in connection with food banks, homeless communities, schools or universities.

Group Leader Training

Once the Church Partner application process is complete, Group Leaders are required to complete Kintsugi Hope Wellbeing Group training. This is all provided via 9 online modules, undertaken at your own pace, together with an online group experience led by one of our experienced team. There are also several optional Resource Modules providing extra specialised training which can be explored at any point in your journey as a Group Leader.
